Q: Is it viable to use local labour to dig trenches and pits at Bekisopa to define the Weathered Zone Direct Ship Ore (DSO) as opposed to drilling?

A: In July and August, we conducted a few trial digs to determine the ease and cost to dig a trench.

To dig a shallow trench over 20m took approximately 1 week using 10 local workers and for a 3 to 4m deep pit 2 to 3 days with 5 local workers.

Thereby proving this method is both practical and cost competitive.

We have become very efficient at moving and setting up the man portable drill rig, completing 2 and 3 shallow holes in a 12 hour day during the recent drilling campaign.

We will consider doing pits and trenches on the edges of the known weathered zone in the next campaign.
